// How Much Does a Car Wrap Cost in the UK? Our 2026 Price Guide

If you’re thinking about wrapping your car, the first question is almost always the same: how much will it cost? Lots of price guides answer with a vague range and “it depends”. It does depend, but we think you deserve real numbers. Below are our actual starting prices, what pushes a quote up or down, and how to tell a fair price from one that’s too good to be true.
All of our prices are shown +VAT, and your written quote will show the VAT clearly.
Our car wrap prices at a glance
| Service | Starting price (+VAT) |
|---|---|
| Full colour change wrap | From £2,000 |
| Full printed or custom wrap | From £3,000 |
| Logos and decals | From £250 |
| Design work (printed and custom wraps) | From £150 |
| Ceramic coating over your new wrap | From £200 |
“From” means exactly that. A smaller car with simple panels in a standard finish sits near the starting price. A large SUV, a car with complicated bodywork or a specialist finish will cost more. We’ll always explain why before you commit.
What affects the cost of wrapping a car?
The size of the car
More panels means more film and more hours. A city car and a seven-seat SUV are very different jobs, even in the same colour.
The shape of the bodywork
Deep bumper vents, aggressive splitters, sculpted mirrors and big rear wings all take longer to wrap well. To get clean, tucked edges, we often remove parts such as mirror caps, badges, handles and lights. That care is what makes a wrap look like paint rather than a sticker, and it’s built into the price.
The finish you choose
Standard gloss, satin and matte films are the most common choices. Colour-shift, textured and other specialist finishes usually cost more to buy and can be slower to fit. We’ll show you samples in the studio so you can see the colour in real light before you decide.
How far the wrap goes
A standard full wrap covers the outside of the car. If you want the colour carried into the door shuts, so there’s no flash of the old colour when a door opens, that’s extra work. We price it separately so you can choose.
The condition of your paint
Vinyl follows every contour of the surface beneath it, so deep chips, flaking lacquer or poor previous repairs can show through. Weak paint can also lift when a wrap is removed later on. We inspect the car before quoting and tell you honestly if anything needs sorting first.
Design time for printed wraps
A custom or printed wrap starts from £3,000 +VAT, and design work starts from £150 +VAT. The design fee covers turning your idea into artwork that’s laid out properly across every panel, door gap and curve.
Colour change or printed wrap: which is right for you?
A colour change wrap is a single film colour or finish across the whole car. It’s the most popular option for private owners who want satin black, a bold gloss colour or a subtle grey without a respray. A printed or custom wrap is artwork printed onto the film: race-inspired liveries, patterns, gradients or full business branding. It costs more because of the design, printing and lamination involved.
Is a wrap cheaper than a respray?
It often is, but the bigger difference is what happens afterwards. A quality respray is permanent. A wrap can be removed by a professional, and it leaves the original factory paint underneath, protected from light scuffs and UV while it’s covered. That matters if you lease your car, plan to sell it or simply want to change your mind in a few years. We compare the two in more detail in our guide to wrapping vs respraying.
Partial wraps and smaller jobs
You don’t have to wrap the whole car to change the way it looks. Gloss black roofs, mirror caps, bonnets and chrome deletes are popular ways to get a big visual change for less. These are quoted job by job. Logos and decals start from £250 +VAT, and our dechroming service covers window surrounds, grilles and badges.
Why the cheapest wrap often costs more
A low quote usually saves money somewhere: cheaper film, no parts removed, overstretched corners or rushed prep. Those wraps tend to lift at the edges, shrink back from seams or leave knife marks in the paint underneath. Before you book with anyone, ask:
- Which parts will be removed, and which will be wrapped around in place?
- How are edges and corners finished?
- How is the film trimmed, and how is the paint protected while it’s cut?
- Can I see finished cars, close up and in person?

Frequently asked questions
Do your prices include VAT?
No. All of our prices are shown +VAT. For example, a colour change wrap starts from £2,000 +VAT. Your written quote shows the VAT in full.
Why is my quote higher than the starting price?
Usually it’s down to the size of the car, complicated bodywork, a specialist finish, door shuts or prep work on the paint. We’ll talk you through each item.
Can I wrap a leased or financed car?
Many people do, because a wrap can be removed and the factory paint is still underneath. Check your lease or finance agreement first, as some have conditions about modifications.
Do I need to tell the DVLA?
If the wrap changes the main colour of your car, GOV.UK says you must update the colour on your V5C. Our DVLA wrap guide explains how.
Can you add a ceramic coating to a wrap?
Yes. A ceramic coating over a new wrap starts from £200 +VAT. We use Gyeon and CarPro coatings, which make the wrap easier to clean and help it keep its finish.
