We fit every tint in the studio, not on a driveway, so dust and rain stay out of the film. Most tints take a few hours: bring the car in during the morning and it is usually ready to collect the same day.

Window tinting, fitted to UK law
Tint gives you privacy for whatever’s on the back seat. It also cuts glare and heat and blocks the UV that fades interiors. We only fit legal shades at the front:
- Windscreen: must let through at least 75% of light
- Front side windows: at least 70%
- Rear side windows and rear screen: can go darker
We meter your glass so you know where you stand. Shades run from 5% (darkest) to 70%, and we’ll show you samples on your car before anything goes on.

Chameleon tint
Colour-shifting film for the windscreen and front side windows, metered to stay within the legal limits. Choose from red, orange and purple; green and gold; or blue and purple.

Smoked or tinted film for your lights, or clear PPF to protect expensive light units from stone chips on the M1 and A1(M).

A few hours in the studio
Most tint jobs take a few hours (see the table above). Most Leeds customers aim to arrive once the morning traffic on the A61 has eased, hand over the keys and collect the car that afternoon. Before you drive home we’ll re-check the front glass and tell you how long to keep the windows closed while the film settles. Need a car in the meantime? We can arrange an Enterprise rental.

Around 30 minutes from Leeds. From Headingley, Roundhay or Alwoodley, take the A61 north through Harrogate and turn east onto the A59 for Knaresborough. From east Leeds, the A1(M) north to Junction 47 and a short run west on the A59 is usually easier. Marrtree Business Park is on the eastern edge of Knaresborough, with parking on site.

How long will my car be at the studio?
Most tint jobs take 2 to 6 hours depending on the windows, so most cars are dropped off in the morning and ready to collect the same day.
How dark can my front windows be?
Not very. For cars first used on or after 1 April 1985, the windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows at least 70%. We meter your glass and recommend the darkest film that keeps it legal.
Is there a limit on rear window tint?
No. The rear side windows and the rear screen have no legal light limit, so you can choose anything from a light smoke to near-black privacy film.
Which window film brands do you fit?
We’re official installers of Avery Dennison, 3M, Arlon, Oracal, XPEL, ProFilm, STEK and APA window films. We’ll suggest one based on the shade you want, how much heat you’d like to keep out and your budget.
What warranty comes with the tint?
Up to a lifetime, depending on the film you choose. Manufacturer terms apply, and we’ll confirm the cover for your film on your quote.
Can you remove old purple or bubbling tint?
Yes. We strip the old film, clean off the leftover adhesive and can fit new tint in the same visit. Tint removal is charged at £50 +VAT an hour; most cars take about two hours, so from around £100 +VAT.
Why don’t you tint cars at home or at work in Leeds?
Tint goes on the inside of the glass, and any dust or damp caught under it shows for the life of the film. Fitting every car in our climate-controlled studio near Harrogate is how we keep the finish clean.
Can I have tint fitted while my car is in for a wrap or PPF?
Yes. If your car is already booked in for a wrap or paint protection film, we can tint the windows during the same stay, so you only make the trip from Leeds once.
Should I tell my insurer I’ve had my windows tinted?
Yes. Tint counts as a modification, so let your insurer know before you drive on it.
