// How Much Does PPF Cost? Full Front End, Track and Full Coverage Explained

Paint protection film (PPF) is a clear, tough film that sits over your paint and takes the hits that would otherwise chip it: stones, grit, road debris and everyday scuffs. If you drive the A1(M), the A59 or Yorkshire’s gritted winter roads, you’ll know how quickly a bonnet can start to look peppered. So how much does PPF cost, and how much of the car do you actually need to cover?
Here are our three packages, what each one covers and who it suits. All prices are +VAT.
PPF prices at a glance
| Package | What’s covered | From (+VAT) |
|---|---|---|
| Full Front End | Front bumper, bonnet, front wings and mirrors | £1,200 |
| Track | Everything in Full Front End, plus lower sills, A-pillars, the front edge of the roof and rear bumper edges | £1,500 |
| Full Coverage | Every painted panel on the car | £3,500 |
| Ceramic coating over PPF (add-on) | Gyeon or CarPro coating over the film | £200 |
Full Front End: from £1,200 +VAT
Most stone chips land on the front of the car, because that’s the part pushing into the air and everything thrown up by the vehicle in front. Full Front End covers the bumper, bonnet, front wings and mirrors. It’s the package we recommend most often for daily drivers and new cars, because it protects the panels that take the most punishment without paying to cover the whole car.
Track: from £1,500 +VAT
Track builds on Full Front End and adds the areas that usually come next:
- Lower sills, which catch grit and stones flicked up by your own front tyres.
- A-pillars and the front edge of the roof, which face straight into the wind and debris.
- Rear bumper edges, which take wear from loading the boot and spray from the rear wheels.
It suits high-mileage motorway drivers, performance cars, and anyone who wants the vulnerable edges covered as well as the nose.
Full Coverage: from £3,500 +VAT
Full Coverage puts film on every painted panel. Doors are protected from car park dings and scuffs, the roof from overhanging branches and bird droppings, and the rear quarters from road spray. It’s the choice for supercars, new prestige cars and owners who plan to keep their car for years and want the original paint kept as close to factory condition as possible.
What affects the price of PPF?
Size and shape
A bigger car needs more film, and complicated bumpers, vents and sculpted panels take longer to fit neatly.
The condition of the paint
PPF is clear, so it locks in whatever is underneath, good or bad. The paint needs to be clean and sound before film goes on. We inspect every car before quoting and tell you honestly if anything should be sorted first.
Edges and finishing
Where the panel allows, we wrap film around edges so it’s hard to spot. That takes time, but it’s the difference between protection you notice and protection you forget about.
Should I add a ceramic coating on top?
We often recommend it. PPF takes the impacts; a ceramic coating over the film gives it a slick, glossy surface that sheds water and road grime, so it’s easier to keep clean through a Yorkshire winter. Ceramic over PPF starts from £200 +VAT, and we use Gyeon and CarPro coatings. Not sure whether you need film, ceramic or both? Our PPF vs ceramic vs wrap guide compares them side by side.
Is PPF worth the money?
PPF is worth it if you plan to keep the car, cover a lot of motorway or rural miles, or own something with paint that’s expensive or hard to match. A chipped bonnet and bumper can mean a costly repaint, and a repaint is never quite the same as the factory finish. If you change cars every year or two and don’t mind the odd chip, a ceramic coating alone may be all you need. We’re always happy to give you an honest view.
Which package is right for you?
- Mostly local roads, a daily driver or a new family car: Full Front End is usually enough.
- Regular A1(M) or M1 commuting, rural lanes or a performance car: Track covers the sills and edges that chip next.
- A supercar, a new prestige car or a car you’ll keep for years: Full Coverage protects every painted panel.
- Any of the above: add a ceramic coating over the film, from £200 +VAT, for easier washing.
When is the best time to fit PPF?
As early as possible, ideally before the car has done many miles, while the paint is still at its best. Many of our customers drive a new car straight from the dealer to our Knaresborough studio. If your car is older, PPF still makes sense once any damage has been dealt with.
Frequently asked questions
Do your PPF prices include VAT?
No, all of our prices are +VAT. Full Front End starts from £1,200 +VAT, Track from £1,500 +VAT and Full Coverage from £3,500 +VAT.
What’s the difference between Full Front End and Track?
Track includes everything in Full Front End (bumper, bonnet, wings and mirrors) and adds the lower sills, A-pillars, front edge of the roof and rear bumper edges.

Yes, and it’s a popular choice. Ceramic coating over PPF starts from £200 +VAT using Gyeon or CarPro.
Can I have a courtesy car while my car is with you?
