Wrapping Vs Respray: Which Is Best?

When considering an update for your car, there are several different options available to you. One option is a respray which allows you to completely change the paint job of your car.

This can be a long process, can be costly and is also irreversible. Often this isn’t an ideal choice for many people as they want the ability to swap and change between different looks as they wish. Luckily, there are other options available which provide flexibility, such as vehicle wrapping.

Vinyl wrapping is a great choice for a number of reasons. It is removable, reversible and doesn’t damage the car, unlike respraying which involves sanding and removing the previous paint before reapplying.

Car wraps can be removed easily and there is no prep work involved which is damaging to the paint job of your car. It can easily be placed over your vehicle and also easily removed, leaving behind no marks or scratches.

It also adds an extra layer of protection. A respray can give you the look you desire, but any scratches or chips will require extensive work to fix including sanding, colour matching and refinishing.

However, if your wrap gets scratched not only will your car underneath be protected, but it can be easily fixed by simply removing one area of the vinyl and replacing it.

Another reason why wrapping may be a better option is because it can be done much faster. Car wrapping can be done within a few days, however, a respray can take weeks to be completed. This is especially useful if you need to have work done on a limited schedule or have multiple vehicles.

This in turn means that vinyl wrapping can often be far less expensive than a respray as there is less labour involved and the cost of materials is often much less as well.
